Why I’m Rethinking Goal Setting in 2026
Every year I sit down with intentions, planners, lists, and vision boards to set my goals for the new year. And for the past eight years, I’ve accomplished nearly all of them, but now I’m exhausted and burnt out, so I decided to try something new for 2026. I’ve spent too many years setting only work-related goals (millennial girl bosses unite), and now I want to rediscover my passion, pique my interests, and just lower the pressure of following “success”. As my definition of goals are changing, why not the way I set them? I needed a system that didn’t feel like a chore, one that actually made engaging with my goals fun. That’s how Goal Bingo came to be.
If you haven’t tried turning your goals into a game yet, you’re not alone. Across social platforms, people are experimenting with new ways to make progress feel less like a burden and more like a challenge you actually want to win. The bingo method, where each square is a meaningful milestone, is gaining popularity precisely because it mixes structure with play.
What Is Goal Bingo?
Think of your typical bingo card, but each square is a goal or habit that matters to you. I’m focusing on everyday tasks but you can also set big, ambitious dreams.
Here’s why it works:
It turns progress into a visual game: you’re not just checking off boxes, you’re closing in on a bingo. If you’ve ever built a Financial Flow Chart, it’s similar to that.
It’s flexible: you can include anything from self-care habits to career wins.
It keeps you motivated: every completed square feels like momentum.
Instead of writing a long list that you’ll forget by January 5th, Goal Bingo has you interacting with intention every time you look at your card.
How I’m Using My 2026 Goal Bingo
In my newest upload, I walk you through my own 2026 Goal Bingo setup — the categories, the thought process behind square placement, and how I’m making it work for both daily consistency and long-term wins. Watching progress unfold through a grid that feels like a game has been a total mindset shift for me. YouTube
This isn’t just productivity theater. It’s about restructuring how you relate to your goals, so you want to engage with them every day.
