Let’s get some non-negotiables out of the way: Politicians should retire by 60, pineapple does not belong on pizza (and shouldn’t be called Hawaiian pizza because people from Hawaii don’t eat that), and we deserve gift registries for every milestone—not just weddings.

From TV hosting to financial education and now tackling big questions about the systems around us, my goal has always been to translate intimidating worlds into something relatable, digestible, and useful. Right now, I’m most likely horizontal on the couch with my dogs, binging ER.

    1987

    I was born and raised in Hawai‘i, where community and resourcefulness shaped how I see the world. Those values still guide my work today.

    2005

    At the University of San Francisco, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and discovered my love for presenting and storytelling. This piqued my interest in hosting and I launched my very first music show, Yeah Live!

    2010

    I went on to earn my Master’s in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California, where I learned how to write, produce, and communicate stories with impact. Those skills became the backbone of my YouTube career.

    2010 c.

    Shortly after graduation, I pitched a sports show with Maxim Magazine, which became Maxim Sports 1-on-1. This catapulted my hosting career and opened the door for on-camera roles with FX, Fox Sports, The Hollywood Reporter, and NFL Network.

    2012

    After years in television, I made the leap into online content and uploaded my first YouTube video, expanding my expertise from sports to also include beauty, health, lifestyle, and finance. After hitting 100,000 subscribers, I realized this wasn’t just about content — it was about connection.

    2018

    I began using my voice to advocate for the causes I care about most from pet adoption and cruelty-free products to women’s rights, climate activism and financial independence. What started as lifestyle content evolved into a mission: to inspire people to live ethically, intentionally, and confidently.

    2021

    After sharing my own debt-free story online, I saw a major gap in the market for comprehensive budget planners that blended daily to-do’s with financial must-do’s.  That realization inspired me to create MSTRPLN, my own line of budget planners, designed to make money management approachable, visual, and empowering.

    Today

    Since crossing one million followers across platforms, I’ve turned my online community into IRL group experiences through hosting lifestyle events and financial challenges. I’m also innovating how political news is shared through editorial projects that connect politics, fashion, and culture.
