The Real Traffic Jam? Global Tariffs

It’s no surprise that a guy who has filed for Chapter 11 six times is tanking the economy and putting small businesses at risk. So let’s breakdown the fact(ariffs)

Trump is imposing tariffs in order to bring manufacturing back into the United States. By making imports more expensive he believes it will encourage businesses to make more things in the US. Here’s the problem:

1. The cost of making things in the US is very high - it’s at least 4-5 times more expensive than China/Mexico. If a consumer is already suffering from low wages + inflation - why would they pay more for the same product they can get cheaper when made somewhere else?

2. Trumps wishy washy tariff “policy” is actually prohibiting companies from building manufacturing facilities in the US. The little boy can’t make up his mind - one day he’s taxing all countries, the next day it’s just one. Companies hesitate to make long-term investments when trade policies could change within months or less.

3. Manufacturing never left the states - it just traded skilled laborers for automation and robotics. By setting these tariffs before improving infrastructure, training skilled manufacture workers, and overhauling supply chains - the quality of potential U.S. made products will never beat China/Mexico. Period. If you think the US can do it, look up “Louis Vuitton factory in Texas” and then get back to me.

Bringing back American manufacturing would be a huge accomplishment. The goal of job creation, economic growth and national security is any Presidents wet dream. But the path to achieving this requires careful consideration and strategic planning - a sentence that has never been used to describe this administration. Buckle up.
