Hi.

I'm Aja Dang & welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

The One Piece

The One Piece

Last week, I went home to Hawaii for the first time in 6 month and had the craziest realization: I was actually wearing clothes!

Gone are the days of Brazilian bikinis and short shorts.

I don't know when this happened (turning 30 in a couple days has nothing to do with it, I promise) but I've started to lean more towards one pieces as my swimsuit of choice. I used to think less is more. I mean, no one likes a bikini line. But over the past year my string bikinis have grown into something that no longer makes my father cringe.

These days, one pieces can actually be sexier than a two piece. You can get one that fits any body shape; one that hugs you in all the right places, in any color you want. I prefer pieces (either one piece or a two piece) with a high cut leg - this will make you look longer and leaner. One pieces that cut below the hip bone actually make my legs look chunkier - no thanks. When I do want to rock a two piece, I've been liking the high waisted, high cut legs for the same reason. A high waisted bikini bottom that hits you at the right spot can add curves. Plus you can eat fries poolside without worrying about the dreaded stomach puffiness post-meal.

These "hot" new bathing suit trends remind me of Sport Illustrated Swimsuit issues of the 80's. When you wear them you exude that girl next door sexiness of Christie Brinkley, Elle Macpherson and Paulina Porizkova.

While it's still winter in many places, summer will be here sooner than you think! Here are a couple of my favorites:
